The obvious evolution of this alarm clock is a robot that traps and consumes humans.
It’s not explicitly said in the article, but the robots seem to be programmed using neural networks. The robots are learning on their own, and some of them are learning to be evil. This is exactly the sort of thing you should be terrified of. (via @victoriaelle)
